- Bio: Williamson Ball (ca. 1739–1793) was a planter, military officer, sheriff, justice of the peace, and legislator from Richmond County, Virginia. He served as captain of the Lancaster District Regulars during the American Revolution and held numerous county offices, including sheriff and justice of the peace. Ball represented Richmond County in the House of Delegates during the 1777–1778, 1780–1781, 1785–1786, and 1786–1787 sessions. During the 1780–1781 session, he succeeded Francis Lightfoot Lee after Lee was declared ineligible for failing to take the oath of allegiance. Ball died in 1793, and his will, probated in 1794, names seven children.
