- Bio Information: SIR JOHN RANDOLPH was clerk of the House of Burgesses from 28 April 1718, when he succeeded Thomas Eldridge, who had resigned, to August 1734, when he resigned the clerkship, entered the House of Burgesses as the representative of the College of William and Mary, and won unanimous election as Speaker of the House on 25 August 1734.
