  • Additional Info: ​Son of William Presley, who represented Northumberland during the assembly of 1647-1648.
     
    Brother of Peter Presley, who represented Northumberland in 1676-1677, 1684 and 1691.
     
     William served during the long assembly of 1661-1676, but was returned to "Bacon's Assembly" in June 1676.  After the restoration of Governor Berkeley, he was again a representative and is remembered for his saying that "he believed that the governor would have hanged half the country, if they had let him alone."
